Notes & Memories

The scene to the left captures the Shipping of Chickens from Greenwood, Clark County, ca. 1909.  Notice the sign in the foreground cautioning travelers to "watch out for the cars".

The Greenwood, Wis. Power Dam located at the Greenwood Tourist Park.

The new dam at Greenwood Tourist Park was completed September, 1927 when the water was raised to a stage to accomodate nice boating and swimming.  The dam was built by the Weaver Construction Co. of Owen at a cost of $4,000.

Laverne "Bud" W. Brown's Barber Shop is the narrow middle building between the variety store (originally constructed by August Noetzel) on the left and the bar on the far right which was owned by Ed Gregorich who sold it to his daughter Barbara and her husband Dennis Rasmussen.

Rather than wait in line, Bud Brown's patrons would visit the bar next door and when their turn came around, he would pound on the common wall to call them to the chair.  Roger Standiford

The automobiles pictured appear to be a 1946 to '48 Chevy and a 1949 to '51 Chevrolet.  Ron Hriber
