Watkins Community Tours

Contributed by Betty Comstock

In the mid 1900's the Watkins Company sponsored tours to their Winona, MN plant for customers living in Greenwood and the surrounding area.  Below is one of those tour groups for which we are attempting to identify the participants.  If you can help, please contact us.

I found a newspaper clipping on the Watkins picture where I identified Aunt Caroline Volk, dated 7/15/1940. I believe Anna Volk is number 9, from pictures I have.

"Those from here who enjoyed the Watkins trip to Winona Thursday were Mmes. E. T. Burch, J. S. Andrews, Anna Johnstone, Caroline Volk, Anna Volk, Chas. Pickruhn, Minnie Cox, Beatrice Clayton, E. L. Miada, and her daughter Margaret, Harold Kenton, Bethel Schwarze, Clair Niehoff, Ted Syth, Art Ampe and Miss Louise Vates."  These are only 16 listed, with more in the picture.
I believe my Aunt Caroline Volk is number 24 and I sure hope someone is able to identify the other persons.  Sorry I don't have more info.  Betty Comstock
