Ray
Mortimer was a son of William and Stella (nee
Pettit) Mortimer, early pioneers of York
Township who came to Clark County from Calumet County in 1876.
As such, he was a brother to Jesse Mortimer
(Helen Sisson’s father),
Grace Rowe and George Mortimer, who are also buried in York Center Cemetery.
After marrying the former Mariah Davis, he lived on a farm in Section 15
