Herb Free

April 23, 1892 - February 2, 1971

Herb Free was a son of Richard and Hannah (nee Armstrong) Free, early settlers of York Township.  He was a younger brother to Lucy Lawrence who was a wife to Horace H. Lawrence, the youngest son of Horace A. Lawrence, a pioneer of York Township and a Civil War veteran.  Since one of Horace and Lucy Lawrence’s children was Gilbert Lawrence (Helen Lawrence-Sisson’s first husband), Herb Free was an uncle to Gilbert Lawrence. Herb Free was also a younger brother to Phoebe Free and Sidney Free; both also being buried in York Center Cemetery.[cemeteries/footer_gif.html]
