THE CRIMSON AND WHITE

The Junior Prom

The Junior "Prom" which is to be held May 24th is going to affair of the year.

Can't you just picture it? The soft night wind caressing your cheeks, the delicate fragrance of a somewhat mystifying perfume, the soft, simmering, lights, the most realistic starts twinkling overhead, the rustling of gowns, the shuffling of feet, and the best music to be head - now playing for fast rhythmical steps that speak of laughers and gaiety - now, for slow, easy, graceful movements that are always a rare accomplishment -- all lend to the charm of that warm a May night.

We hope it's going to be jewel night to be stowed away among other cherished memories.

Forensic Work

Forensic work, in which Neillsville has been so successful the past few years, played a very active part in the high school's outside activities this year as well. The first local elimination contest, held on April 3rd, had 13 participants, 7 boys and 6 girls. The various events, with the first and second place winners in each were as follows:

Extemporaneous Speaking: Max Pullen (1), John Zimmerman (2), Leland Buddenhagen.

Extemporaneous Reading: Valda Munger (1), Robert Dahnert (2), Mary Ann Grzanna, Dolores Scott.

Oratory: Robert Dahnert (1), Max Pullen (2), James Unger, Leland Buddenhagen.

Humorous Declamations: Franklin Nehs (1), Jocye Kleckner (2), Valda Munger, Wendell Palmer, Dolores Scott.

There first and second place winners travel to Osseo on April 16th to represent our high school at the district contest to be held there. The outcome of this contest is not out at the time of this printing, but it certainly is a very hopeful outlook for us, and we hope to win the cup again as we have done in the past years.
