Highground to hold Veterans’ Day Celebration

By Peter Spicer

The Highground will hold a Veterans’ Day Celebration Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 3:30 p.m.

The Highground is hoping to have a local Color Guard present Colors to open the event, said The Highground Volunteer General Manager Kirk Rodman.

The Pledge of Allegiance will be recited after “The Star-Spangled Banner” is performed.

Wisconsin National Guard Senior Advisor Lieutenant Colonel Mark Rodwell will be a guest speaker.

Names of Wisconsin veterans killed in action in Afghanistan and Iraq will be read in a talking circle.  Wisconsin veterans missing in action in Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam will also be read.

“The Highground’s first Veterans’ Day Celebration was held 12 years ago,” stated Rodman.
