Stone placement begins Phase II of Korean Tribute at The Highground

The first stone of Phase II in the Korean Tribute was placed Saturday, July 9, at The Highground.  The Forest Larson grandchildren were on hand to lead the visitors in the Pledge of Allegiance and to place the first stone in Phase II on the inside wall of the Tribute’s walkway.  Neillsville American Legion Post #73 provided a color guard to start the ceremony.

The family of Forest Larsen proudly honor his memory with the first Phase II stone placement, Sgt. Charles Rehlinger, a Korean veteran who was also presented with a stone, was asked to Harvest and Spread the Earth (a tradition at all ceremonies).

The day was the beginning of a new phase in the tribute to the “Forgotten War” that is always remembered at The Highground.

The Forest Larson family poses with Angie Larsen holding the stone in memory of Forest.
