Journey?s End Celebration

Held at The Highground

Bicycle Tour cyclists from Appleton, New Richmond, Madison, Racine, Hayward and Dubuque, IA, came together at The Highground Sunday, August 8, for their Journey?s End Celebration.

Approximately 250 riders pedaled around 1,450 miles before arriving at The Highground.  The Loyal American Legion Post 175 and volunteers displayed flags along the roadway as the bicyclists rode around the plaza.

Cyclists and support vehicles rode into The Highground as the crowd cheered and the replica Liberty Bell tolled.

Each of the route coordinators was introduced and given awards for their top fundraisers. Three route coordinators received honorable mention for riding 25 years for The Highground.

This year, bicyclists raised over $46,000 that will be used to keep The Highground beautiful for all visitors. A picnic lunch was served to all the bicyclists, families and support people.

The warm, damp weather did not stop guests who welcomed back the bicyclists and their support group. This is the 26th year for the annual Bicycle Tour. It was a grand day at The Highground.
