The Highground held its Fall Clean-up Wednesday, Oct. 27 and Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010.

Winter is right around the corner; 64 volunteers responded to The Highground?s call for help, braving the cold and wind (emphasizing wind) for fall Clean-up days. Volunteers donated their time and talents to get The Highground ready for the winter months.

Picnic tables and plaza benches were stored, culverts placed on trails, bushes and tree branches were trimmed, flowers were cut and/or pulled, and leaves and pine needles were raked and disposed of.  The Learning Center garage even received a face-lift.

The Highground recognized everyone who braved the miserable weather conditions to help then.

?The Highground is not about what you see; it?s about what you don?t see ? the hundreds of volunteers working to make this a welcome home for all visitors.?

?There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer. Volunteers and contributors are the heart of The Highground.?
