Long-time commander of the Neillsville Veterans of Foreign Wars/American Legion Color Guard unit, Howie Mathis was among those honored at last Saturday?s Legacy Stone ceremony at The Highground.  Surrounded by 60 or so family members and friends, Mathis placed a Legacy Stone inscribed with the words: Howie Mathis Nam Vet, Proud Son Husband Dad Grandpa Friend  Organized by his wife Kathy (at right, in green) the ceremony in Mathis? honor was a complete surprise to him that day.
