Wildlife foundation makes Highground donation

Discover your forests without leaving home.  Because of a donation from a local group, area teachers, students, and visitors to The Highground Veterans Memorial Park will enjoy losing themselves along the 4 miles of trails at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park.  Eldon Helms (right) and members of Wisconsin Wildlife Federation District 4 West donated $2,500 to Kirk Rodman, Highground general manager, to develop signs and brochures detailing the makeup and significance of 140 acres of forest at the park.  Helms said they want the people who made this possible to know that their donations make a difference "right here at home."  The Highground, according to one of the staff, would like to have the signs in place before the end of the summer.  (Contributed photo)
