Save June 16 to see Denk Family at Tufts’

For those who had the pleasure of hearing the sweet harmonies of the Denk Family last summer at Tufts’ Mansion in Neillsville, they’ll be glad to know that the group will once again perform at Tufts’ June 16 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Accompanying the Denks will be Lawrie and Denny Beaver, also originally from Loyal.  Steve Cox from Marshfield will complement the band on drums.

Granddaughter Mary Denk, Jr., whose 98-year-old (July 2) grandmother Mary Denk Sr. will take her usual front row seat, will start the night off with a few originals.  Neighbors, friends, family and the curious will be delighted with the patriotic melodies and blended voices of the six Denk sisters, Sharon (Schoonover), Diane (Anderegg), Vonnie (Dragon), Linda (Newcomer), Kathy (Hutchinson) and Pat Denk. Accompanying their sisters on piano/guitar/vocals are Gordy Denk and Jeff Denk.  Courtney Posteluk, another of Mary Denk Sr.’s granddaughters, will entertain the crowd with her beautiful original composition and accompany on harmony.

Those who missed the country twang of Denny Beaver’s steel guitar last year will be pleased to know Denny is bringing his steel all the way from Prescott, AZ, to play. Denny’s brother Lawrie, another professional musician who has played all over the state of Wisconsin with Southbound, will play bass and sing harmony.  If the mood is right, the crowd might be able to get Peg Beaver up on state to sing a duet with her husband.

Don’t forget to bring comfortable lounge chairs and a small amount for admission. Beer, soda and wine coolers will be available for purchase.
