Thanks, Chad

Life in a small town is good, and Chad Karnitz is a good example of why.  Chad offered to “fill in” at The Clark County Press at a time when he was really needed.  The newspaper business wasn’t new to him, as he had worked for the Press a number of years ago.  He’s done a great job of helping to continue to keep things on track for the Press staff, and credit also goes to Dee, Nancy, Shari and Linda.  Thank you for all each of you did to keep things going.  Mick would be proud.

Welcome, Peter

Peter Spicer is the new reporter at The Clark County Press.

Spicer comes from the Tri-County News and the Augusta Area Times, both published in Osseo, where he worked for the last 10 months as an editor/reporter writing sports and feature stories.

Prior to that, he covered sports for the Crawford County Independent from January 2006 to May 2007.

Originally from Gays Mills, he attended Maranatha Bible College in Watertown, where he majored in humanities and minored in writing and Bible.

He also played NCAA Division III football and baseball and played French horn in the symphonic band while in college.

Spicer, who currently lives in Eau Claire, is planning to move to Neillsville in the near future.

In his free time, Spicer enjoys jogging, weightlifting and playing basketball and the French horn.

Last summer he was a receiver and special teams player on the Winona/La Crosse Roughriders semi-pro football team.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to work here,” Spicer said.
