Granton's Fall Festival Honors Citizens,
By June Thompson Granton’s Fall Festival attracted a large crowd despite the construction on Main Street. The theme of this year’s fall festival was “Under Construction.” And folks got around all that, eagerly wanting to know the new royalty for 2024-2025. The festival originally started in 1950. After more than 70 years, the festival is still a crowd-pleaser. The anticipation for the Granton Fall Fest Queen Coronation at the Granton Fire Station reached a high pitch from a patient crowd at 7 p.m. on Sept. 6. Yet, before the new queen was crowned, First Responder Linda Becker was honored for her 30 years of service. Tim and Cheryl Steinbach were Granton’s Honored Grandparents, and Doug Becker was Granton’s Honored Citizen. The coronation followed with Mindy Dix being crowned Fall Festival Queen with Emma Woller and Maelee Strey as attendants.
