1947--The problem of finding a schoolhouse for the 24 pupils of the Benjamin School, in the Town of Warner, has been solved at least for the remainder of this year. Russell Drake, county school superintendent, said that the Benjamin School now is in operation in the old German Church School about a mile south of the site upon which the Benjamin School stood before it was razed by fire recently. The present building was used many years ago as a parochial school, but had not been in use for quite some time. The seats and blackboards still were in place, and ready for use. Text books largely were secured from the old West Eaton School, which has been closed and a few new books were bought to fill in, Mr. Drake said.
1957--Electors of the Willard and West Eaton School Districts Monday night voted 32 to 7 to consolidate with the new Greenwood School District, bringing about the largest school district in Clark County. Eleven school districts will make up the new consolidated school district.

I attended the West Eaton School from 1953 to 1954 (first and second grades). Mrs. Dorothy Irvine was our teacher. While I do not have any pictures of the school, Alan Lamovec has class pictures from around that time period. I have some great memories of attending a one room rural school. Ida Meinholdt Simonson
