Memories

I Don't remember going down there when dad was getting the car fixed and seeing one of those peanut dispensers that were like a bubble gum machine. I do remember that station being called Chubb's.  Mary Urban

My parents always had their service done at this station because they knew "Chubb" as he was called, would always do it right!  When I knew him, he lived with his aunt Julia and I think he had taken over the business after his uncle, Arthur Chubb, died.  Both the Chubb's were really quiet people who basically limited conversations to just what needed to be said.  They were not chubby people as their name might imply.  Bob Carl worked for them and he was a very likeable, out-going guy who like dealing with the public.  Bob was a brother to Greenwood's star athlete, Harland CarlStan Schwarze.
