| It was a small beginning 100 some years ago when the John
Wuethrich Creamery Company, Inc. first began picking up cream to
make Grassland Butter.

Horse drawn wagons and sleighs gave way
to small trucks, then larger ones. Wooden cream cans gave way to
stainless steel tanks. Old vane churns are gone, replaced by three
large continuous churns that operate side by side. Finished butter
in 60 pound wooden tubs were replaced with customer packages. Today
modern butter printers package the freshly made butter into
virtually any size or type container needed for consumer or
institutional use. The plant has grown from a small wooden structure
to an ever-growing complex of mortar and steel.
Maintaining our commitment to advance
with technology, and also bring added service to our customers,
Grassland has installed two new systems. The evaporator system was
installed in 1987. It gives us the ability to custom process our
buttermilk into a premium product. In late 1993, the newest process
was added to our facility, the butteroil system. With this system we
are now able to produce butteroil and anhydrous milkfat. Both
systems have increased capability in accommodating the food service
industry.
Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. with over
150 employees, is family-owned and currently being run by the third
and fourth generation of the Wuethrich line. With 100 years of skill
and knowledge in the butter business, along with today's advanced
technology, Grassland Strives to give service hand-in-hand with our
commitment to be the best place to sell surplus cream, or purchase
butter products and buttermilk concentrate. Look this on-line
brochure over...and give us a call. We'd like to talk business with
