LOYAL - Lee Susa, the basketball coach at Loyal High School is elated over having 6-3 sophomore Matt Koski on the team.

"In nine years (of Coaching) he's the tallest player I've coached," Susa says.

There are only two returning lettermen. Neither of the two returnees, Steve Voss and Mike Stumpner, cut much of a swath through the eastern Cloverbelt Conference last year. As a matter of fact, the only Loyal player listed among the top 11 scorers in the area, was Greg Morrow and he's departed.

In addition to Voss and Stumpner, the Loyal varsity included Jim Ditter, Rich Rinehardt, Steve Hinker, Tony Schoonover, Tom Wilke, Pat Olson, Ed Esselman, Dave Loos, Mike Rueth, Tim Lindner, Scott Rueth and John Kauffman.

Susa's capsule comments on his top six players follow:

Voss - experienced letterman, good shooter, tough rebounder., will direct the team on offense.

Stumpner - junior who started as a sophomore...strong inside player.

Rinehardt - hard worker, aggressive tendencies reflected on the boards.

Rueth - extremely quick...good shooter, great rebounder from the guard position.

Koski - quick learner, am confident he will improve steadily as season wears on.
