Foemmel, Gerhardt A. (21 October 1910 - 16 November 1983)

NEILLSVILLE - Services for Gerhardt A. Foemmel, 73, of the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, who died Wednesday morning at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, will be Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Church, Neillsville of which he is a member.

The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff will officiate. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Appleyard, Gerald Eberhardt, Raymond Foemmel, William Strangfeld, Herman Carl and Clarence Schlinkert. Visitation will be at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville.

He was born October 21, 1910 in the Town of Grant, to the late Mr. and Mrs. William (Martha Ratsch) Foemmel. He received his education at St. Jon's Lutheran School and in rural schools in the Town of Pine Valley. He farmed in that township for many years and had been a resident of Clark County Health Care Center for the past several years due to ill health.

He married Irene Davis September 6, 1940 in Neillsville. She survives along with a daughter, Sharon Foemmel of La Crosse; two sons, Dale and Everett, both of Neillsville; four sisters, Sally Kluchesky and Mrs. Frank (Ella) Hoffmann, both of Neillsville, and Clara Scheel and Mrs. William (Elda) Morley, both of Granton; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Edward, and a sister, Martha.
