Sheila Rene Hanson and Mark Allan Christophersen were united in marriage by the Rev. Norbert Miller in services held on Saturday, May 7 at Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood. Parents of the couple are Jon and Nancy Hanson, 209 Crocker St., Greenwood, and Allan and Virginia Christophersen, Rt. 1 Withee.

The bride’s father and sister offered special music for the service.

Laura Debevec, a friend of the bride from Willard, was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Dana Hanson, the bride’s sister from Greenwood. Bestman was Scott Christophersen, the groom’s brother of Grand Forks, ND. He was joined by Randy Erickson, a friend of the groom from Wichita Falls, Tex. Ushering were Dan Mroz of Owen and Duane Churkey of Withee, both friends of the couple.

The bride wore a floor-length gown in soft tiers of Rochelle lace, and which swept to a chapel-length train. The Victorian-style bodice was accented with silk Venician lace and a wide Rochelle lace flounce at the neckline. Her picture style hat was trimmed with Chantilly lace and soft illusion flowers flowing over the brim. She carried a cascade of red roses, white carnations, baby’s breath and ferns. The bride’s attendants wore spaghetti strapped, soft rose hued gowns with matching polyester chiffon jackets featuring a ruffled trim and embroidered yokes. They carried long-stemmed roses in varying shades of pink. The groom and his attendants were attired in silver gray tuxedos.

The Greenwood American Legion Hall served as the site for a reception and dance following the sharing of vows.

Th new Mr. and Mrs. Christophersen will make their home at Withee She is a 1980 graduate of Greenwood High School, attended UW-Eau Claire and graduated from the City College of Cosmetology of Eau Claire. She is employed by Mr. Joseph’s, Inc., of Abbotsford. Her husband is a 1980 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and is a diary manager for the Owen-Withee IGA.

Prenuptial events included a shower held at the Leona Christophersen home, hosted by Mrs. Christophersen, Lori Smith and Carole Buss, and a shower at the home of Judy Metzke, hosted by Ms. Metzke and Cherilyn Hare.
