Parchen, Anna (7 January 1892 – 10 December 1982)

Anna Parchen, 90, a Neillsville resident since 1977, passed away, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 10. For the past two years, she had been a resident of Memorial Home.

The deceased was born January 7, 1892, in Chicago to Adam and Johanna (Moosimiller) Rutz. After her education, she worked in Chicago. In 1919, she married Adam Parchen in Great Falls, Montana ceremonies, and the couple made their home in Montana where they farmed. They later moved into Great Falls and made their residence there for 40 years. Twelve years ago, she moved to Milwaukee where she lived with a daughter. In 1977, she moved to Neillsville and two years ago she moved to Memorial Home.

Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Aiden (Ruth) Peot of Neillsville, Mrs. Howard (Jeanette) Pederson and Mrs. Bert (Berniece) Gardner, both of Lincoln, Montana, and Mrs. Mary Rutz of Sarasota, Florida, seven grandchildren; and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral rites were conducted on Monday Morning, December 13, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating. Burial was to be made in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls, Montana, following a Wednesday, December 15, prayer service from a funeral home there. The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville was in charge of arrangements.
