Lueck, Erna M. (25 September 1909 – 13 December 1982)

Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday, December 16) at 11:00 a.m. from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville for Erna M. Lueck, 73, of Huntley, Illinois. She passed away on Monday, December 13, in a Woodstock, Illinois, hospital.

The deceased was born on September 25, 1909, in Neillsville to Peter and Helen (Gullikson) Hagen. After receiving her education, she worked in Neillsville. For many years she was a waitress at Becker’s Café. In 1965, she moved to Marshfield where she worked at the A&W drive-in and Figi’s. In 1981, she moved to Illinois.

The deceased was married twice. Her first husband was George Freezy. In September of 1950, she wed Walter E. Lueck in Elkader, Iowa, ceremonies.

Surviving her are seven daughters, Mrs. Walter (Maureen) Wirkuty of Brownsville, Oregon, Mrs. James (Pauline) Johnson, Mrs. Robert (Pat) Parks and Mrs. Roger (Georgia) Ziller, all of Huntley, Illinois, Mrs. James (Nellie) Ekland of Burtons Bridge, Illinois, Mrs. Erich (Laynie) Heinrich of Kingston, Illinois, and Gloria Burnell of La Crosse; and five sons, Alan Freezy of Elgin, Illinois, Dennis Freezy of Eau Claire, Ted Freezy of Spencer, Walter Lueck, Jr., of Huntley and Bradley Lueck of Aurora, California. Also surviving her is a sister, Mrs. Paul (Esther) Snyder, Eugene, Oregon; two brothers, Oscar Hagen and Ted Hagen of Nixa, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Walter Lueck, in May of 1981 and a daughter, Eileen.

The Rev. Lloyd Hohn of the Neillsville Assembly of God Church is to officiate with burial made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ted Freezy, Roger Ziller, Robert Parks, James Ekland, James Johnson and Erich Heinrich. (The body was to lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning until time of services.)
