Venet, Gloria Mae (13 November 1982)

Gloria Mae Venet and Randal Dean Slobodnik were married by Judge Michael Brennan in Neillsville ceremonies on Saturday afternoon, November 13. Parents of the bride are Lorraine Venet of Eau Claire and Raymond Venet of Withee. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Slobodnik, Withee.

Lori Rohland of Madison served as maid of honor. She was joined by Julie Slobodnik of Withee. Bestman was Glen Stangret of Chippewa Falls while Randy Henchen of Neillsville was a groomsman.

The bride chose a gown trimmed with ruffled Chantilly lace, beaded Queen Anne’s neckline, an empire-style waist accented with lace and pearls, bishop sleeves, an A-line skirt with ruffled lace and similar hemline and a chapel-length train. She also wore a lace and pearled fingertip-length illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses with wine and pink forget-me-nots.

Following the service, a dinner and dance was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. The couple announced a wedding trip to Missouri and Kansas.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and in 1978 from District I Technical in Eau Claire. She is employed in layout and design for Zip Print of Eau Claire. Her husband is a 1976 graduate of the same school and completed four years with the Marine Corps. He is an industrial electronic technician for M&E Development of Neillsville. The couple will make their home in Augusta.
