Pagenkopf, Clara (18 August 1893 – 2 November 1982)

Clara Pagenkopf, 89, passed away in Neillsville Memorial Home on Tuesday, November 2.

Mrs. Pagenkopf was born on August 18, 1893, in Milwaukee, to Henry and Amelia (Immisch) Stelloh. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to the Neillsville area, receiving her education in the Silver Crest School, in the Town of Pine Valley. She then worked in Neillsville for several years.

On February 5, 1919, she married Alvin Pagenkopf in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple then farmed in the Town of Pine Valley until the death of Mr. Pagenkopf. She then moved into Neillsville where she lived for several years and later made her home with a son until 1975 when she entered the Memorial Home.

Surviving her, all of Neillsville, is a son, George; a sister, Ella Stockwell, and a brother, Edward Stelloh. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Harold; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, November 5, from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated with burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald, Raymond, Thomas and John Pagenkopf, Donald Warren and Monty Gress.
