Buddinger, William C. (28 April 1898 – 12 October 1982)

William C. Buddinger, Sr., 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born on April 28, 1898, in the Town of York to Peter and Minnie (Luebke) Buddinger. After his education, he worked as a carpenter for several years. On March 27, 1922, he married Katherine Geisler in Neillsville ceremonies.

The couple then moved to Chicago where he continued to do carpenter work. Several years later, the family returned to the Town of York and started farming; he also worked there as a carpenter. In 1938, the family moved to the Town of Washburn to farm.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are two sons, Wilber of Sycamore, Illinois and William “Whitey” of Granton/; two sisters, Mrs. Hugo (Minnie) Trimberger of Granton and Mrs. Clara White of Loyal; a brother, George Buddinger, Neillsville, three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, October 15, for William C. Buddinger, Sr. of Rt. 2 Granton. The Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiated at the Gesche Funeral Home service. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Opelt, Gene Buddinger, Jerry Hyde, Donald Turner and Roger and Duane Huth.
