The Colby High School class of 1936 held its reunion last Saturday evening at the Colby Hotel. Fifteen of 28 members were present with their husbands and wives. A floral plant with their class colors, rose and silver, decorated the banquet table. Also on display was the class picture, band picture, the class diploma and a copy of the senior class play.

Conrad Orth was chosen to preside as toastmaster for the program which followed the meal. A moment of silence was observed for the four deceased members:, Roy Huber who was killed in action in World War II in 1942; Walter Schultz who died in 1963; Morris Sterzinger in 1971, and Harry Hein in 1973.

Each member was called on to given an account of his life and family happenings. Recognition was given to the two teachers present, Dolores Flynn and Mrs. Roy Sleeter (Evelyn Quigg), both of Wausau, and Mrs. Harry Bender, Colby, the principal’s wife.

Prizes were awarded to Edwin Frome for the first reservation, Don Schultz for the last reservation. Donald Foster received a prize for the most hair, and also the youngest grandchild. Hilda Kastorf and Dorothy Totzke tied for the smallest waistline. Fred Dins received the prize for wearing his class ring. The plant decorating the table was received by Beatrice Rifleman for the door prize.

Those present and the reunion were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beyerl, Lombard, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dins, Abbotsford; Irene Feind, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Foster, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Frome, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Herb Hederer, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Kademan, Marshfield; Mrs. Beatrice (Kraus) Rifleman, Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Totzke (Dorothy Olson) Schofield; Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Orth, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz, Stratford; Arnie Strathman, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Zulke (Mildred Weidenhoeft), Schofield; Mr. and Mrs. John Kastorf (Hilda Weller), Spooner.

Thos on the committee for the reunion were Conrad Orth, Arnie Strathman, Mildred Zulke and Beatrice Rifleman. It was voted on to have the next class reunion in the early fall of 1981.
