Awe, Wendy (16 Oct 1976)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday, October 16, 1976 at the First United Church of Christ, Colby, by Wendy Awe and Steve Kinderman, both of Eau Claire.

The Rev. Kenneth Dix performed the 7 p.m. ceremony. Roger Awe, brother of the bride, was soloist, and Mrs. Kenneth Dix was the organist.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Royal Awe, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Kinderman, Fall Creek.

The bride wore a gown of jeweled polyester with a high fitted appliqued bodice. The train of the slightly flared skirt was edged in lace. She wore a full chapel length veil edged in lace. A cascade arrangement of white iceberg pompons and yellow roses, accented with lemon leaves, completed her wedding ensemble.

Mrs. Scott Enerson, Milwaukee, was matron of honor, and Janice Awe, Colby, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid.. Both attendants wore royal blue dresses featuring high waists, rolled collars and long sleeves trimmed with white lace. Each carried a white wicker basket filled with white daisy pompons and blue cushion mums and baby’s breath trimmed with white streamers.

Tim Sinz, La Crosse, was best man. Tom Ristow, Waukesha, was the groomsman. Ushering duties were shared by Roger Awe, Arlington, Virginia, and Greg Kinderman, Fall Creek.

A reception and dance followed at the VFW Hall in Colby. The bride is a 1972 graduate of Colby High School and graduated in 1976 from UW-Eau Claire.
