Buettner, Annette Kay (14 August 1982)

Annette Kay Buettner and Paul William Drescher were united in marriage on Saturday late afternoon, August 14, ceremonies at the Neillsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Ott officiating. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James Buettner, Rt. 1 Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drescher, Rt. 1 Neillsville.

Serving as maid of honor was Lory VandeBerg, a friend of the bride from Marshfield. She was joined by Bonnie Drescher, a cousin from Neillsville; Sharon Buettner, a sister-in-law of the bride from Granton; and Mary VandeBerg, a sister of the groom from Neillsville.

Ron Langreck, a friend of the groom from Chili, was bestman. He was joined by James Drescher, brother of the groom from Neillsville; Mike Buettner, a brother of the bride from Granton, and Steve Lezotte, a cousin of the groom from Merrill. Ushering were Bruce Strangfeld of Eau Claire and Allen Drescher of Neillsville; both are cousins of the couple.

Special music at the service was provided by Sheila Steiner of Granton and Cindy Scheel of Dorchester.

The bride chose a floor-length, lace gown with a Victorian-styled bodice and long sleeves. She wore a picture hat and veil and carried a bouquet of pink roses, burgundy carnations, white lilies and lilies of the valley. Her attendants wore pink, lace sundresses with lace jackets and carried bouquets of white and peach lilies and lilies of the valley. The groom was attired in a white tuxedo while his attendants wore gray tuxedos.

A reception was held at Fannie’s Supper Club of Neillsville, which was followed by a dance at the Loyal American Legion Hall.

Prenuptial evens included a rehearsal dinner at the Country Pines Supper Club, rural Marshfield.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Drescher will make their home at rural Neillsville. She is a 1979 graduate of Granton High School and is employed by Fannie’s Supper Club and Motel. Her husband, a 1977 graduate of Granton High School, is employed at the Granton unit of the Neillsville-Granton Farmers Union Cooperative.
