Volovsek, Nicholas A. (28 December 1979 – 15 January 2023)

Nicholas A. Volovsek, 43, Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly from a medical emergency on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Nicholas was born on December 28, 1979, in Marshfield, to Michael and Rosemary (Weyer) Volovsek. He was a 1998 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stout.

While in high school, Nick was a member of the 1997 Varsity Football team which won the state championship. He also participated on the Track team.

Nick had been employed in IT at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Ascension Hospital and at the present time was working as Solutions Analyst at Marshfield Clinic Health Systems.

Nick enjoyed boating, scuba diving, shooting, hunting and disc golf. He loved motorcycles, (off road and touring) ATV’s and UTV’s. He played Magic: The Gathering card game and hosted a Monday night card club. He liked online video games, YouTube videos and movies.

He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Volovsek, his brother Jay (Jennifer) Volovsek and their daughter Cameron. He is further survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents Michael and Mary (Walter) Weyer and paternal grandparents William and Bernice (Schnitzler) Volovsek.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 11:00 am until service time. Please feel free to dress casual as that would have been Nick’s wish. The service will be livestreamed on www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family for a future disc golf event in Nick’s honor.
