Phillips, Russell A. (23 November 1928 – 23 January 2023)

Russell A. Phillips, age 94, formerly of Owen, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, in Waupaca under the tender care of hospice.

Russell was born on November 23, 1928, the son of Uno and Mary (Bjorn) Phillips. He was united in marriage to Beverly Johnson on April 15, 1950. Russell worked as an Insurance Salesman, an Ad Salesman for a radio station, drove for Ryder and at the Post Company in Owen. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Russell is survived by his wife, Beverly of Waupaca; ten children: Toni Phillips-Rodello of Appleton, Rick (Tana) Phillips of Unity, Brett Phillips of Westboro, Roxanne (Robert) Ponce of Lakeport, CA, Matthew (Birgit) Phillips of Westboro, Joel Phillips of Wild Rose, Jesse (Amelia) Phillips of Lakeport, CA, Jackie Griffin of Waupaca, Jill Jenkins of Lakeport, Ca and Jody Phillips of Manawa; 31 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dewey and his brother, Dewey.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen. Father George Stamm will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Thursday. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
