Johnson, Justin J. (9 November 1973 – 28 December 2022)

Justin J. Johnson, age 49, of Eau Claire, (formerly of Stanley), passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his home.

Justin Jon Johnson was born on November 9, 1973, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, the son of Merle and Rose (Smoczyk) Johnson. He grew up in the Stanley area and attended Stanley-Boyd Schools. He then enrolled at Chippewa Valley Technical College earning his GED. Later, he attended Globe University and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. Justin worked as a security guard at various employers over the years, before settling in with Per Mar Security. He moved to Eau Claire 3 years ago to be closer to work.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed watching the Raiders and Buccaneers play football, throwing darts, and watching police shows like Law & Order and NCIS.

Justin is survived by his four children: Marcus (Justine) Shock of Eau Claire, Damian Johnson of Owen, Jamie Johnson of Boyd, and Kevin Johnson of Eau Claire; three grandchildren: Amy, Jude, and Brentley; his mother: Rose Meyer of Stanley; two siblings: Travis (Tina) Johnson of Eau Claire and Bonnie Johnson of Hugo, MN; living niece and nephews: Kayla Weiner, Zach Johnson, Gabe Johnson, Jayden Johnson, and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; one nephew: Lance Weiner and one niece: Chelsea Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2022, at Thorp Funeral Home in Thorp. Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate, and burial will follow in New St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Johnson, Bonnie Johnson, Joe Pletka, Jr., Ray Kroeplin, Zach Johnson, and Eric Couillard. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
