Zschernitz, Jerry Dean (3 November 1969 – 30 December 2022)

Jerry Zschernitz, age 53, of Neillsville, died, unexpectedly, Friday, December 30, 2022, at his home on Sherwood Road.

Jerry Dean Zschernitz was born on November 3, 1969, in Neillsville the son of Thomas and Carolyn (Kluckhohn) Zschernitz. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1988, and then attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, for carpentry. He then went to work for Marawood Construction Services in Marshfield. After leaving Marawood, Jerry worked at the Nelson Muffler Factory as a welder until the factory was closed. He owned his own dump truck for a while and then worked for Mark Brunette at M&M Floors, laying hardwood floors. Currently, Jerry was working at Mayville Engineering Company, MEC as a welder.

Jerry was a big lovable teddy bear, who always had a smile on his face. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed in our community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family. He loved to go UTV-ing, often times with his co-captain, Delaney Rochester by his side, usually leading the pack on the trails.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Zschernitz of Neillsville, his sister, Penny Parkin of Osseo, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Zschernitz on January 20, 2021, his grandparents, Louie and Genevieve Zschernitz and Marion and Dolores Kluckhohn, aunts, Jayne Perrine and Joyce Zschernitz and cousins, Josh Zschernitz, Scott Zschernitz and Brookelyn Roenz.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
