Eastman, Anna E. (21 February 1895 – 28 June 1982)

Anna E. Eastman, a resident of Neillsville Memorial Home for the past nine years, passed away on Monday, June 28, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. She was 87.

The deceased was born on February 21, 1895, in Chicago to Vincent and Mary (Manchel) Mashin. As a young child, she moved with her parents to the Columbia area where she received her education. She then worked for Sears and Roebuck in Chicago for several years.

On June 21, 1921, she married Orin F. Eastman in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple then farmed in the Town of Pine Valley for many years; upon retirement they moved into Neillsville. She then worked for the West Side Store, the Black River Country Shopper and the Neillsville American Legion Hall. Nine years ago, due to failing heath, she became a resident of Memorial Home.

Surviving her are three brothers, Albert Mashin and George Mashin, both of Neillsville, and Edward Mashin of Humbird. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 9, 1971.

Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday, July 1) at 1:30 p.m. from the Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiating. Burial is to be made at the Town of Lynn Cemetery. (The body was to lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 and on Thursday morning until time of services.)
