Suttner, Christine Ann (5 Jul 1975)

Father Emil Hodnik officiating at the 1:30 p.m. rites on July 5, 1975 as Christine Ann Suttner became the bride of Kevin Steinmetz. Mrs. Marion Lemon provided music at the organ.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Suttner, Route 1, Curtiss, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Steinmetz, Route 2, Colby.

For her wedding the bride chose a floor length gown of organza fashioned with an A-line skirt and featuring an attached floor length train. The dress had an overlay of floral embroidery, which also fashioned the sheer sleeves. Her Juliet headpiece held a fingertip veil.

She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, baby’s breath and stephanotis.

Jayne Schindler, Curtiss, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Kunze, Abbotsford, a friend of the bride, Karen Steinmetz, Stanley, sister of the bridegroom, Joan and Sandy Suttner, both of Abbotsford, sisters of the bride.

The attendants wore apricot colored floral halter dresses, accented with matching jackets. They wore matching picture hats and carried a single long stemmed yellow rose.

Pam Suttner, Abbotsford, sister of the bride, and Rod Mohan, Colby, were the flower girl and ring bearer.

Julian Jannene, Colby, attended his friend as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Steinmetz, Colby, brother of the bridegroom, Bob Will, Colby, Church Jantsch, Athens, friends of the bridegroom, and Dennis Suttner, Abbotsford, the bride’s brother.

Kerry Steinmetz, brother of the bridegroom, and Bill Schmitz, cousin of the bride, seated the guests.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner for 275 guests were held at the Colby Hotel. The wedding dance was held at The Sword.

The bride graduated in 1972 from Abbotsford, High School. The bridegroom graduated from Colby High School in 1970 and from the vocational school in Eau Claire in 1971. He is employed by Utke Brothers.

The newlyweds are living in Abbotsford.
