Wichlacz, Gale (14 Jun 1975)

Rev. Leonard Stashek performed the wedding ceremony Saturday, June 14, 1975, at 2 p.m. as Gale Wichlacz and Gerard Schreiber repeated their wedding vows.

Nuptial music was by Mrs. Gladys Martin at the organ, Mrs. Ruth Lotter and Clyde Schreiber with guitars, and vocal selection by Mary Martin and Cindy Schreiber.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wichlacz, Milan, and Mr. and Mrs. Roman Schreiber, Route 2, Athens.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride chose a white floor length A-line gown of organza over taffeta, featuring a full skirt and attached train. The bodice was accented with pearl beading and featured a high ruffled collar. Chantilly lace accented the bodice, skirt and bishop sleeves.

Her floor length veil was also trimmed with Chantilly lace and she carried a colonial bouquet of orange roses and white carnations created by Mrs. Robert Jacobi of The Wishing Well.

Bonnie Schreiber, Athens, sister of the bridegroom, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Joan Knecht, Abbotsford, sister of the bridegroom, and Pamela Wichlacz, Milan, sister of the bride.

The bride’s attendants were dressed in identical floor length gowns of floral melon print over matching taffeta. The dresses were fashioned with matching butterfly capes, and each attendant wore matching satin ribbons in her hair. They carried a sing long stemmed orange tinted rosebud.

Julie Wichlacz, Milan, sister of the bride, was the miniature bride. She was dressed in a gown similar to the of the bride and carried a matching bouquet. The miniature bridegroom was Lee Schreiber, Athens, brother of the bridegroom.

The bride’s mother sewed the bridesmaids’ and miniature bride’s dresses.

Scott Wichlacz, Milan, brother of the bride, was the best man. Groomsmen were Robert Knecht, Abbotsford, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Frances Martin, Halder, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony a supper was served at the church hall and a reception and dance was held at Trianon Ballroom, Athens.

The bride is a 1974 graduate of Abbotsford High School. She is employed as a compugraphic operator at the Tribune-Phonograph, Abbotsford. Her husband graduated from the same school in 1973, and is a glass cutter at ILC, Spencer.

Following a wedding trip to Wisconsin dells, the couple is now at home at 423 W. Butternut, Abbotsford.

Guests attended the wedding and reception from Milwaukee, Green Bay, Athens, Milan, Abbotsford, Mosinee, Marshfield, Sheboygan, West Allis, Chetek, Spencer, Edgar, Marathon, Owen and Westboro.
