Sandley, Carol Ann (15 July 1935 – 4 November 2022)

Carol Ann Sandley, age 87, of Spencer, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center with her family by her side.

Carol Ann Wucherpfennig was born July 15, 1935, to Reinhold and Martha (Hoefs) Wucherpfennig, and she was a graduate of Loyal High School. On Feb. 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to Victor L. Sandley at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Carol worked at Weyerhauser for 40 years, retiring in 2000. She had many things that brought her joy in her life, but nothing as much as being called Mrs. Victor Sandley, Dear, Mom and Grandma. More often than not, she could be found either in the kitchen or with a good book. She also enjoyed camping, going along hunting with the “Guys,” and making sure that there was enough lunch along. She also enjoyed telling stories of events that happened throughout her life, and always enjoyed when the community carolers came every year; and special visits from her friends, Aaron and Elsie Yoder. Carol also enjoyed spending quality time with all of her family – enjoying having the holiday season spent with family.

Carol is lovingly survived by her children, Victor K. (aka Kenny), Kim (Gwen), Jody (Mindy) all of Spencer, Cheryl Bruesewitz of Abbotsford, Dean, Brad (Lori) of Marshfield. She is also survived by grandchildren, Melissa, Sara, Mischel, Nissa, Shawn, Kristen, Angela, Courtney, Cody, Cory, Vanesa, Emma, Jacob; along with 19 great-grandchildren (and one on the way). Also surviving her are brothers and sisters, Walter (Eileen), Glen (Debby), David (Nancy) Wucherpfennig, Lenora Williams, Lucille Bauer, Lois Aumann; also, sisters-in-law, Gloria McKeller of Colby, and Hildey Key of Burlington, and Carol Konerik of Chippewa Falls; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; son, Craig; and son-in-law, Steve Bruesewitz. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her mother-and-father-in-law; brother, Marvin Wucherpfennig; and her in-laws, Les Williams, James Bauer, Henry Aumann, Lavern, Odell, Ted and Harold Sandley, Charlotte and John Konerik, Marge and Jerry Watzke, Jack Lima, Glen McKeller.

The family of Carol would like to thank the caring staff of 5 North at Marshfield Clinic Health Systems for the tender care she received.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
