Area horse riders will have another place to ride their animals in an indoor setting with the opening of Twin Oaks Performance Arenas near Loyal.

Sabine Hartmann has added the indoor facility after offering an outdoor arena to horse enthusiasts in recent years. The new arena is 80’ X 180’, insulated, and heated.

An open house for the arena is set for Oct. 29, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at W4428 Rock Creek Road, northwest of Loyal. The day will include lunch by the Clark County Pleasure Riders, vendors, door prizes, and horse/pony rides (with helmets provided).

There will also be horsemanship presentations by trainer Billy Yoder, from 12:30-2:30. He will talk about the four qualities of a versatility ranch horse and trailering horses.

The indoor Twin Oaks arena will be offered to horse owners on a per-ride basis, or a monthly fee. It’s similar to what riders have been paying for use of the 250’ X 125’ outdoor arena in recent years.

The indoor arena has a 10-inch compacted topsoil base, topped by 2 1/2 inches of washed sand. Hartmann also has one stall available this year for horse boarding, and will be adding more by next year. She also plans to hold horse clinics in the future, with information available on the Twin Oaks Facebook page.
