Empey, George (15 Aug 1887 – 31 Oct 1974)

Services were held for George Albert Empey, 87, Route 1, Abbotsford, on Saturday, November 3, 1974 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Milan, with Rev. Mark J. Nicolaus officiating. He was buried in the Milan Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Empey died at 3 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 1974 at the Colonial House of Colby.

He was born on August 15, 1887 in the Town of Holton (Marathon Co.). Mr. Empey married the former Hattie Paul on December 30, 1914 in Marathon County.

He attended the College of Agriculture in Madison in 1908 and farmed in the Town of Holton in Marathon County.

Mr. Empey was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. H was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1972, four brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by a son, Eldred, Rib Lake, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the funeral were George Kadonsky, Clarence Rankl, Chester Buss, Bob Venzke, Albert Marske and Lawrence Schaus.
