Herbert G. Filitz, 82, a longtime Town of Levis farmer, died at his rural Neillsville home on Sunday morning, February 21.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, February 24, from the Neillsville United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

As a young boy, he came to Clark County with his parents and received his education in Town of Levis, Riverside School. On October 1935, he married Mary M. Bricken in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple farmed in the Town of Levis until ten years ago when he retired. They continued to make their home on the farm.

Surviving him, besides his wife, is a son, James, Neillsville; two sisters, Martha Noltner of Madison and Leda Palmer, Portland, Oregon; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer.
