Tischendorf, Mr./Mrs. Paul (Gold – 13 Aug 1974)

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tischendorf, Rt. 1, Dorchester, who were married 50 years ago on August 13, 1924 at Medford, celebrated the occasion on Saturday with an open house from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dorchester Fire Hall. The evening was spent at the Marvin Steevens residence, and Sunday church services were attended by family and friends, followed by a dinner at the Steevens home.

Present for the occasion were the couple’s attendants, Helen Mueller, Dorchester and Alfred Krainer, Dorchester.

Mrs. Tischendorf, the former Hattie Gribowski, was born November 8, 1904 at Edgar, in the Town of Frankfort. She is a member of the County Line Homemaker Club and the ladies guild at the United Church of Christ.

Paul Tischendorf, a farmer and carpenter, was born October 20, 1901 at Dorchester. He is a member of the United Church of Christ Council and a former member of the Cleveland School Board. The couple has lived at the home Tischendorf farm all of their married life.

Mr. and Mrs. Tischendorf are the parents of five children: Mrs. Gerald (Delores) Frey, Stetsonville; Mrs. George (Fern) Hargraves, Athens, and Mrs. Marvin (Joyce) Steevens, Don Tischendorf and Marvin Tischendorf, all of Dorchester; 39 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Sisters of Mrs. Tischendorf are Mrs. Sebastian (Martha) Christiansen, Edgar, Mrs. Joe (Dala) Heindl, Wausau, and Mrs. J. (Margaret) Christiansen, Wausau.

Mr. Tischendorf has one sister, Helen Mueller, and three brothers, Harry, Walter and William.
