Stuart, Robert W. (25 May 1912 – 1 Aug 1974)

Funeral services for Mr. Robert W. Stuart, 62, Colby, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Schmitt of Pardeeville on Thursday, August 1, 1974, were held at the Gay Funeral Home in Iowa Monday. Burial was in the West Branch Cemetery, West Branch, Iowa.

Masonic rites for the well-known area realtor were conducted by the Abbotsford Lodge, 296 F & A.M. on Saturday evening at the Polnaszek Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert Stuart was born at Greene, Iowa on May 25, 1912 and received his education in Iowa schools. He married Miss Florence Smith August 3, 1934 at Kahoka, Missouri.

The couple moved to Loyal in 1957 and to Abbotsford in 1959. They have been making their home at Colby since 1967, where he had his realtors office. Mr. Stuart also operated the Stuart Realty office of Medford, now known as Resheske Realty.

Mr. Stuart was a member of the Marshfield Realtors Club, Abbotsford Masonic Lodge and the Easter Star.

Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dixie Lee( Schmitt, Pardeeville, Wisconsin, a foster son, Ray Young, Nora Spring, Iowa and seven grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Romaine, West Liberty, Iowa, and Mrs. Harold (Maxine) White, West Brandy, Iowa, and two brothers, Kenneth Stuart, Iowa City, and Paul Stuart, Riverside, Iowa, also survive.
