Martin, Sharon (14 November 1981)

Sharon Martin and Mike Buettner were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, November 14 in the Neillsville United Methodist Church. The Rev. William Noble officiated. Parents of the bride are Mrs. Melford Molle and the late James Martin, Marshfield. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Buettner, Rt. 1 Granton.

Pam Haebig, a cousin of the bride from Marshfield, was the matron of honor. She was joined by Annette Buettner, the groom’s sister from Neillsville; Shirley Martin, the bride’s sister from Godfrey, Illinois; and Tammy Molle, the bride’s sister from Marshfield.

Paul Drescher, a friend from Neillsville, was the bestman. He was joined by Paul Haebig, a cousin from Marshfield; Dale Kuehn, a friend from Neillsville; and Gary Zinthefer, a cousin from Campbellsport. Ushering were Roger Martin, the bride’s brother from Marshfield, and Jeff Strangfeld, a cousin from Neillsville.

Special Music was offered at the service by Iris Musil.

The bride chose a polyester gown, featuring a lace bodice enhanced by see pearls, re-embroidered scalloped neckline and stand-up collar, bishop sleeves and a lace trimmed skirt and chapel train. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, white carnations and daisies. Her attendants wore light blue velvet gowns and carried bouquets of blue daisies and white carnations. The groom and his attendants were attired in blue tuxedos.

Following the church services, a reception was held at Fannie’s Supper Club, Neillsville. The couple will make their home at rural Granton.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and is employed by Shopko of Marshfield. The groom is a 1977 graduate of Granton High School and is employed in the family business.
