Mantik, Carol S. (17 Aug 1974)

The Assembly of God Church, Chippewa Falls was the setting for the wedding of Miss Carol S. Mantik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben W. Mantik, Eau Claire, to Robert M. Busse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin O. Busse, Rt. 1, Abbotsford, on Saturday, August 17, 1974. The Rev. Verne Hagenbeck officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.

For her day the bride chose a full length gown of ivory satin. The A-line skirt which swept back into a cathedral train was trimmed in tucked satin and pink ribbon drawn through Venice lace, as were the high neck and bishop sleeves. Pink appliqués accented the gown.

The long matching veil of ivory silk illusion and Juliet headpiece were also trimmed in pink ribbon and Venice lace, with pink rose appliqués.

Miss Rachel Mantik, Minneapolis, served her sister as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Susan Buchholz, Abbotsford, sister of the groom, and Debra Mantik, Eau Claire, sister of the bride. Miniature bride and ring bearer were the bride’s niece and nephew, Paula Gitzel, Fond du Lac and Jim Niblett Jr., Chippewa Falls.

The bridesmaids were attired in Empire style dresses which complemented the bride’s dress. The burgundy velvet bodice was accented in rose appliqués and laced satin. The Juliet sleeves and A-line skirts were of pink chiffon.

Brother of the bridegroom, Wayne Busse, Abbotsford, was the best man, and groomsmen were Steve Buchholz, Abbotsford, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Mike Mantik, Eau Claire, brother of the bride. James Niblett and Brian Busse served as ushers.

A reception at the Town of Halle Town Hall, Chippewa Falls, followed the wedding.

The couple will make their home at 507 ½ Street in Eau Claire.
