Braun, Mary Frances (12 September 1981)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, was the setting for the Saturday, September 12, wedding of Mary Frances Braun, Rt. 2 Spencer, and Timothy Paul Schecklmann, 304 Beaver St., Loyal. Father James J. Logan performed the early afternoon rites for which Bob and Coni Meyer were singers and Norma Nelson was organist.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Braun, Rt. Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schecklman, Rt. 4 Neillsville.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her parents, was seen in an Edwardian-style gown of sheer organza and Venician lace with a high neckline, bishop sleeves and crystal pleated and ruffled skirt flounce sweeping to a chapel train. Her lattice-edged fingertip veil carried Venetian appliques. She carried a bouquet of white roses, orchids, stephanotis, baby’s breath and ivy.

Mrs. Timothy (Lisa) Braun, sister-in-law of the bride, Spencer, attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Patricia Schecklman, Neillsville, sister of the groom; Tina Herbert, Loyal, friend of the bride; Lori Weyer, Eau Claire, friend of the bride; and Carla Braun, Spencer, sister of the bride. They were attired in white and orchid printed organza gowns with spaghetti straps and bolero jackets. They carried bouquets of white and lavender daisies and spider mums with baby’s breath.

Richard Schecklman, Neillsville, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Brock, Loyal, friend of the groom; John Braun, Spencer, brother of the bride; Paul Esselman, Loyal, friend of the groom; and Scott Dietsche, Spencer, nephew of the groom. Daniel Schecklman, Neillsville, cousin of the groom, and Andrew Braun, Spencer, brother of the bride, were ushers.

The reception, dinner and dance were held at the American Legion Hall in Loyal. Prenuptial evens included a shower hosted by the groom’s sisters, Bonnie Dietsche and Jolene and Pat Schecklman, and a shower given by Tina Hebert and Lisa and Carla Braun.

The bride is a 1980 graduate of Loyal High School and a Mid-State Technical Institute-Marshfield graduate. Her husband is a 1976 Loyal High School graduate and is employed at Loyal Skelgas. After a wedding trip to Upper Michigan and Mackinac Island, the couple will make their home in Loyal.
