Chase, Kenneth (31 March 1945 - 10 June 2022) With Flag

Kenneth J. Chase, age 77, of Stevens Point, formerly of Junction City, died on June 10, 2022, at Whispering Pines.

Kenneth was born on March 31, 1945, in the Township of Pine Valley, Clark County to the late Joseph Chase and Mardene Stanley.

Kenneth married JoAnn Hachmeister and had two children, Teresa Martini of Wausau and Michael Chase of Stevens Point. Kenneth and JoAnn later divorced.

Kenneth was proud of his military service in the Navy; both in the United States and Overseas. He served from 1966 to 1970. Kenneth was stationed on the U.S.S KISHWAUKEE (A0G-9) which was a gasoline tanker where he was a maintenance person who worked on computers. Kenneth was a Vietnam veteran.

Kenneth earned a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Upon graduation, he worked for the DNR as a Conservation Warden. He later became employed at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as an Electronics Technician. After many years of dedication, Kenneth retired from the University.

He enjoyed his hobby farm, where he raised beef cattle, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid collector and seller of toy tractors and used to attend tractor shows with his son, Michael. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League of America Inc., Bill Cook Chapter in Stevens Point, WI.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Teresa Martini and son, Michael Chase; granddaughter, Crystal, daughter of Michael Chase; and his stepbrother, Bud (Laura) Chase. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Chase; his mother, Mardene Stanley; stepmother, Donna Chase; sister, Marcia Strand; ex-wife, JoAnn Chase, and son-in-law, Terry Martini.

Visitation will be held at Boston Funeral Home, 1649 Briggs St., Stevens Point, from 10-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. A Memorial Service will follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Chaplain David Baker presiding. Interment will be at a later date in Neillsville Cemetery.
