Miss Connie Kocian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kocian, Route 2, Colby, became the bride of Dan Earl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Earl, El Cerrito, California, in a December 28, 1973 ceremony at Church of the Foothills, Tustin, California, Rev. Win Gould and Rev. Larry Hixon solemnizing the vows.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fosdick, Garden Grove, California, represented the bride’s parents at the wedding, a the latter were unable to attend.

The bride chose an A-line empire style wedding gown, accented at the neckline, bodice and cuffs with lase. Her shoulder length veil was attached to a crown of pearls and she carried a cascade arrangement of white daisy mums with a detachable orchid.

Mrs. Jim Carter, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Larry Hixon, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Doug Earl, sister-in-law of the groom. They wore empire style gowns of forest green polyester crepe with white lace trim.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Douglas Earl. Groomsmen were Perry Carter and Dennis Houser, friends. Ushering duties were performed by Jon Funkhouser, Francis Sullivan and Kerry Livingston.


A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the church’s Newlon Hall.

The new Mrs. Earl is a 1961 graduate of Colby High School, and a graduate of the Wisconsin State University, Stevens Point. She taught three years at Stanley-Boyd High School, and then moved to southern California, where she has been teaching seventh and eighth grade math at Hewes Intermediate School in Tustin.

Her new husband is a 1961 graduate of El Cerrito High School, and a graduate of Chapman College, Orange, California. He teaches choral music, drama and coaches after school sports at Hewew Intermediate School in Tustin.

They are residing in Tustin, California.
