Leichtnam, Celia (23 Jul 1897 – 28 Dec 1973)

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Celia Leichtnam at Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford on Monday, December 31, with Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiating at the 2 p.m. rite. Interment was in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Mrs. Leichtnam died Friday morning at the Tomah Memorial Hospital at Tomah.

The former Celia Thierbach was born July 23, 1897 in the Town of Green Grove. She was married to German Leichtnam on April 20, 1920, at Stanley, and had lived most of her life in Abbotsford, having spent the past 12 years at Tomah, where she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Al Rehberg.

Mr. Leichtnam preceded her in death on February 2, 1947. Two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Donald of Colby, Byron of Dorchester and Jack of West Allis; four daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Lange of Milwaukee, Mrs. John (Margaret Miller of Appleton, Mrs. John (Donna) Anderson of Menomonie Falls, and Mrs. Alvin (Bonnie) Rehberg of Tomah; 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. John Donnelly and Mrs. Arin Christopherson of Stanley, and Mrs. Elsie Mueller of Oshkosh.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 31, 1973 for Mrs. Celia M. Leichtnam, 76, who died at Tomah Memorial Hospital, December 28.

Rev. Kenneth Loehrke of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, officiated at the 2 p.m. service held at Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Miss Vickie Nixdorf was soloist, accompanied by Miss Jill Bremer at the organ. Interment was in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim, Dan, Donald, David and Gary Leichtnam, Bruce and Dennis Lange, all grandchildren of the deceased.
