On Saturday, May 27, 1978, Miss Mary Anne Stillings, Owen, and Mr. Craig William Conklin, St. Paul, Minnesota, married at Christ Episcopal Church Cathedral, Eau Claire.

Escorted down the aisle by her eldest brother, Jeffrey Stillings of Richardson, Texas, the bride was dressed in a floor length gown of white chiffon and re-embroidered lace. Her attendants, Miss Meg Lohmann of Milwaukee and Mrs. Jeffrey Stillings, Richardson, Texas, wore princess line dresses with chiffon jackets. Bouquets, altar flowers and decorative baskets of flowers were composed of combinations of yellow and white daisies, salmon colored carnations, yellow roses, stephanotis, and ivy.

Attending the groom were his brother, Jeff Conklin, also of St. Paul, and A1C Alvin Griffin, on special leave from Navy service in the Pacific.

The marriage service was read by the father of the bride, the Rev. E.N. Stillings, Owen. The sermon, a charge to the couple being married, was delivered by her grandfather, the Rev. J. Bruce Medaris of Maitland, Florida. The Nuptial Eucharist, which followed, was celebrated by Fr. Stillings, assisted by Fr. Medaris. At the close of the service the blessing was pronounced by the Rt. Rev. Stanley Atkins, Bishop of the Diocese of Eau Claire.

A reception was held in the Cathedral Lounge immediately following the service. There the newly married couple were pleased to visit with many relatives and other friends who had come from Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, Florida and from a number of cities in Wisconsin, including friends from Owen.

Mr. and Mrs. Conklin enjoyed a ten day vacation at Cumberland State Park, Kentucky, and are now at their new home in Wheeler, Wisconsin.
