Andrew Krug, 78, Route 2, Owen, was dead on arrival at 6:50 p.m. Saturday at St.
Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 1978 at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Withee, the Rev. Douglas Groenewold, pastor, officiating. Burial
followed in Riverside Cemetery near Withee.
Pallbearers were Mark Krug, Wayne Krug, Greg and Jeff Neitzel, Dennis Decker and
Ronald Krug.
Mr. Krug was born September 1, 1899 in the town of Holway, Taylor County. He
married Ethel Stephens June 26, 1928 in Curtiss. He farmed in the town of Holway
until 1954, when they moved to Medford for a short time. He had lived in the
town of Maplehurst since then. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, George and Jerry, both of Medford, William of
Racine, and Dale, Spencer; four daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Beatrice) Decker, Unity,
Mrs. Clifford (Annabelle) Neitzel, Curtiss, Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Wisniewski of
Withee, and Mrs. Gordon (Jane) Mathews, Medford; one brother, Fred of Owen; two
sisters, Mrs. Ray (Elsie) Krueger and Mrs. Otto (Elizabeth) Frahmann, both of
Medford; 37 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Dean, in 1968, and two sisters.
