Nowak, Theresa (1 Oct 1898 – 3 Apr 1978)

Mrs. Theresa Nowak age 79, died at the Thorp Care Center on Monday, April 3, 1978 at 4:00 p.m.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 1978 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with the Rev. Richard Fliss, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, and a parish rosary will be said at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Theresa Krzykacz was born on October 1, 1898 in Chicago. She married Ignatius Nowak on November 14, 1916 in Chicago, and they moved to a farm in the township of Holway and farmed until 1954, when they moved to Owen.

For the past two years she has lived at the Thorp Care Center in Thorp.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen.

She is survived by one son, Matt Nowak of R.R. 1, Medford; four daughters, Mrs. James (Victoria) Simpson of Evanston, Illinois, Mrs. Anton (Clara) Sandel of Thorp; Mrs. Theodore (Helen) Gowey of Medford, and Mrs. John (Sylvia) Schaffer of Palatine, Illinois.; one brother, Adam Krzykacz of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Mike (Selma) Kowaleski of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Anton (Mary) Natywa of Chicago; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on March 12, 1975, and two grandchildren.
